3.2 A strategy for emotional wellbeing
In designing a population-level strategy for emotional wellbeing and the prevention of mental health disorders, key considerations include ensuring equitable access to mental health services, integrating mental health into broader health and social policies, and prioritising early identification and intervention through robust screening and prevention programmes.
It requires a multi-sector approach involving policy makers to work alongside private sector entities. In recent years, we have witnessed an exponential rise in the private sector driving innovation in mental health technologies. Further focus can include supporting workplace mental health initiatives, and promoting environments that foster psychological safety and resilience.
Collaboration between government, healthcare providers, and businesses is necessary to scale up proven interventions and ensure they are both accessible and sustainable. Finally, ongoing evaluation and adaptation of strategies are required to respond to emerging challenges and maximise impact across the population.
